This was the largest football game attendance in the state of Texas and SEC history at the time. The record for a game involving an SEC team was surpassed by the Battle at Bristol. Kyle Field played host to the largest ticketed concert in United States history in June 2024, when George Strait played before a crowd exceeding 110,000.
