Casino bonuses in Ireland: what they are really worth
The headline figure on a casino bonus tells you very little. Two offers of "up to €500" can differ by hundreds of euro in real value once you factor in the wagering, the game restrictions and the win caps. This page ranks current welcome offers from the casinos we recommend in Ireland by what they are worth to an ordinary player, not by the biggest number.
Types of casino bonus
- Deposit match: the casino adds a percentage of your deposit as bonus money, for example 100% up to €100. Usually comes with wagering requirements.
- Multi-deposit packages: the match is spread over your first three to five deposits, each with its own time window.
- Free spins: a set number of spins on named slots. The best versions pay winnings as cash with no wagering.
- Cashback: a percentage of net losses returned over a period, often weekly. Simple, but check whether it is paid as cash or as bonus money.
- Stake-and-get offers: play a set amount and receive free spins or a bonus, a common format with Irish-facing sportsbook brands.
The five terms that decide a bonus's value
- Wagering requirement: how many times you must play through the bonus (or deposit plus bonus) before withdrawing. 25x on deposit plus bonus on a €100 deposit and €100 bonus means €5,000 of play.
- Game contribution: slots usually count 100%, table and live games often 10% or nothing.
- Maximum bet: typically €5 per spin while the bonus is active. Going over can void your winnings.
- Time limit: seven to thirty days is normal. Unused bonus funds and winnings are removed when it expires.
- Win cap: the most you can withdraw from bonus winnings, sometimes as low as €100.
Payment method exclusions
Many casinos exclude deposits made with Skrill, Neteller or paysafecard from their welcome offer. If you want the bonus, deposit with a debit card, PayPal or Apple Pay, and check the terms first. Our payments guide lists what each casino accepts.
Bonuses and Irish regulation
The Gambling Regulation Act 2024 gives the Gambling Regulatory Authority of Ireland powers over how operators market and structure promotional offers, so expect bonus rules for Irish players to tighten as licensing rolls out. We update this page when offers or terms change.
When to say no
You never have to take a bonus. If you plan to play table games, want to withdraw quickly or simply prefer not to track wagering, declining the offer is often the better choice.
