How We Review
How we research, score and update our reviews of sportsbooks and casinos in Ireland.
Our Mission
At iGambling, our mission is to give Ireland players reliable, clearly sourced information about where they play. Our ratings are based on the research described on this page, not on advertising spend. All operators we review for Ireland are licensed by Gambling Regulatory Authority of Ireland.
Our Review Process
Every review follows the same four steps, so operators are compared on the same kind of evidence.
Licence & Terms Research
We start with the operator's licence: we check it against the regulator's public register for the market and record the licensee, the licence number and the date we checked. We then read the operator's published terms, bonus rules and responsible-gambling tools. Our reviews are desk research: we do not open funded accounts or deposit money to test operators.
Site & Product Checks
We go through the operator's website and app-store listings to record what it offers in the market: sports and betting markets, casino games, payment methods with their stated limits and processing times, and the support channels available. Where a review relies on the operator's own published figures, it says so.
Scoring
Each operator is scored on the five categories below with the same rubric, based on what the research found. A score reflects the published terms and features at the time of the check; it is not a guarantee of any individual experience.
Updates
Licences, offers and terms change. We update a review when we learn of a change, from a regulator's register, an operator's revised terms or a reader's report, and every licence shown on a review carries the date it was last checked.
Rating Categories
We rate every operator on five categories, using the information gathered in the steps above.
Bonus & Promotions
Bonus value, wagering requirements, time limits and other conditions as stated in the operator's published terms, and how clearly those terms are presented.
Betting Markets / Game Selection
The range of sports and betting markets, casino games and live dealer tables the operator lists for the market.
Mobile Experience
Whether iOS and Android apps are offered, what their app-store listings show, and how the mobile site presents the main features.
Customer Support
Which support channels are offered (live chat, email, phone), their stated hours, and the help resources the operator publishes.
Payments
The payment methods offered and their stated deposit and withdrawal limits, fees and processing times, as published by the operator.
Our Rating Scale
We use a 0–10 scale to rate every operator. Here's what each tier means.
Best-in-class. Top-tier experience across all categories.
Outstanding operator with minor areas for improvement.
Solid option with a good overall experience.
Significant drawbacks. Proceed with caution.
Major issues. We do not recommend this operator.
